![]() Sarah McLachlan was one of my favorite female singers of the 90s, and when I think about her, I think about the Lilith Fair concerts that gained so much popularity. "You Were Meant For Me" would enter the Hot 100 in November of 1996 and spend 65 weeks on the chart, peaking at #2 for 2 weeks. Seems like during the spring of 1997, you couldn't turn the radio on without hearing this song. "Hand In My Pocket" was the second single to be released from Jagged Little Pill and would peak at #15 on the Hot 100. Back in the mid 90s, Alanis was a crossover artist playing on the alternative formats, as well as the Hot 100. The song would eventually become Britney's first number one song on the Hot 100.Īs I mentioned up above, Alanis is getting ready to resume her tour where she will perform the entire Jagged Little Pill album. I think I remember hearing this song hit the radio in the fall of 1998. It's hard to pick a signature song for Britney Spears because a lot of those early tracks became some of the most iconic songs of the 90s. In the fall of 1994, Madonna would release her very sexy album Bedtime Stories.
